Courses

TLIC3004 Drive heavy rigid vehicle

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to drive a heavy rigid vehicle safely including systematic and efficient control of all vehicle functions, monitoring of traffic and road conditions, management of vehicle condition and performance, and effective management of hazardous situations. Assessment of this unit is conducted by our assessors within a licensing examination conducted by, or under the authority of, the relevant state/territory Road Traffic Authority. 

Course requirements:

To gain an HR class licence, you must no longer be a provisional licence holder and have held:

  • A Car (C class) licence for at least 2 years, or
  • A Light Rigid (LR class) heavy vehicle licence for at least 1 year, or
  • A Medium Rigid (MR class) heavy vehicle licence for at least 1 year.
  • Must be physically able to meet the requirements of the course

TLIC3005 Drive heavy combination vehicle

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to drive a heavy combination vehicle safely including systematic and efficient control of all vehicle functions, monitoring of traffic and road conditions, management of vehicle condition and performance, coupling and uncoupling of trailer, and effective management of hazardous situations. Assessment of this unit is conducted by our assessors within a licensing examination conducted by, or under the authority of, the relevant state/territory Road Traffic Authority. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit.

Course requirements:

To gain an HC class licence, you must no longer be a provisional licence holder and have held

  • A Car (C class) licence for at least 3 years, and
  • A Medium Rigid  (MR class) heavy vehicle licence for at least 1 year, or
  • A Heavy Rigid (HR class) heavy vehicle licence for at least 1 year
  • Must be physically able to meet the requirements of the course

TLIC4006 Drive multi-combination vehicle

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to drive a multi-combination vehicle safely, including systematic and efficient control of all vehicle functions, coupling and uncoupling of dollies, monitoring of traffic and road conditions, management of vehicle condition and performance, and effective management of hazardous situations. Assessment of this unit is conducted by our assessors within a licensing examination conducted by, or under the authority of, the relevant state/territory Road Traffic Authority. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit.

Course requirements:

To gain an MC class licence, you must no longer be a provisional licence holder and have held a

  •  Car (C class) licence for at least 3 years, and
  • A Heavy Rigid (HR class) heavy vehicle licence for at least 1 year, or
  • A Heavy Combination (HC class) heavy vehicle licence for at least 1 yr
  • Must be physically able to meet the requirements of the course

TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck

This unit specifies the outcomes required for the operation of a powered industrial truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachment, for licensing purposes.

Course requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Basic English reading and writing skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be physically able to meet the requirements of the course

FAQ

No. As we are a registered training organization working in partnership with the Department of Transport you are able to do your truck driving training and assessment through us without a learners permit.
Expected number of lessons (on average): HR  8 hours. 
Syncromesh is a style of manual gearbox similar to driving a manual car using an eight speed gearbox.  Road Ranger is a style of manual gearbox that requires gears to be changed using a double de-clutching method in a 18 speed gearbox.
